PVC

Synthetic material, polyvinylchloride, invented around the 1930s or 1940s from the waste material of industrial processes. It became popular in fashion in the 1960s, a period which saw an explosion in the use of synthetic fabrics. Now used mostly in the production of fake leather for jackets and pants. Applied as a coating onto polyester jersey, 60% of PVC is produced in black, but it also comes in other colors, according to the season.
