Poplin

Poplin: originally a light and fine woolen fabric, intended for the exclusive use of the pope and produced in the papal city of Avignon

Currently, Poplin is a plain weave fabric, very compact, very fine, light and thin, characterized by a more end of plot. Although manufactured with different yarns (silk, silk-cotton, wool, wool-silk and artificial fibers), the most widespread and well-known is mercerized cotton, made with twisted warp yarns and with a higher count than those of the weft.

It is widely used in shirts and linen, but also for summer dresses, jackets and dusters.
