Pecci

Picci is an Italian wool manufacturer, based in Capalle (Florence). One episode from the company’s history demonstrates its capacity. In 1951 the US army based in Germany ordered 1,800,000 blankets to be parachuted to its troops in Korea in three months time. Pecci coordinated a team of manufacturers to produce the blankets under the strict quality controls of the Societé de Surveillance de Genève. They were delivered 2 days early. E. Pecci & C. was founded in 1902 by Luigi Pecci, grandson of Giustino Pecci, whose signature can be seen on an 1884 invoice which is the first official document of the family wool business. Luigi was succeeded by Enrico in 1936. At the end of the 1960s his son Luigi took the helm, followed by his brother Alberto after Luigi’s premature death in 1973 (the family have founded a museum of contemporary art in Prato in his name).

The company acquired Priverno

The company acquired Priverno in 1976 and then Pontoglio in 1986. Further acquisitions have made the Pecci Group manufacturers of fabrics and hangings, combed and carded wool, knitwear yarns, jersey and ready-made garments. In 1998, with Ceritex, Cisq and Iqnet, they were awarded certifications for the high quality of their products and their elevated operating levels.
