Paraboot

French range of footwear created in 1919 in Iseaux. The idea for it came to Rémy Richard-Pontvert during a trip to the USA, when he discovered the famous Boots and the novel use of India rubber to protect shoes. On his return he created a particularly robust men’s style called Michael, with a sole made from hevea, a rubber obtained from the caoutchouc tree, and an upper with double stiching over a band of leather which made it waterproof. These days as well as the Michael style, Paraboot produces a complete collection of women’s and men’s shoes, with a range specifically for sailing and golf and a range of suitcases.
