Nonsolomoda

Magazine program on fashion and the world of performance broadcast on the Mediaset network. Created by Fabrizio Pasquero, it was subtitled, “A weekly program on various vanities.” It covers fashion in the widest sense of the word, namely everything that is trendy and related to the pleasures of life. The great innovation of Nonsolomoda is that every feature constitutes a short video for an anonymous sponsor. From 1995-96, the features, which previously were only accompanied by a voice-over narrative, were introduced by Roberta Capua, shot in close-up in the style invented by the Target, the program broadcast immediately before Nonsolomoda. The program’s use of photography is also significant. With contributions from photographers including Hans Visser, Charles Rose, Fabio Gianchetti, and Luca Robecchi, it manages to be journalistic and therefore informative, while at the same time creating an extremely elegant image, which adds to the luxurious quality of each feature. It is this combination of true documentary and “setting” designed to enhance the advertising editorial accompanying each film. It is the only program dedicated to fashion to be broadcast for twenty years and has very many imitators. Silvia Toffanin has taken the place of Roberta Capua and presents the program, to whose title has been added “And contemporaneously,” in order to underline the very up-to-date nature of its content.
