Nervesa
Nervesa, Firm producing men’s clothing, outer garments (jackets, suits, overcoats), and pants. It was founded by Giuliano Caponi in 1961 at Nervesa della Battaglia, a village that has come to symbolize the Italian defense along the River Piave during World War I. The outer garments, entirely produced within the company, are of a traditional type: all linings are stitched in place rather than being fused. The company’s vocation for tailoring is underlined by its “bespoke” service, which provides personalized garments very quickly.
In 1997, it was awarded the Marco Polo Prize by the Foreign Center of the Union of the Chambers of Commerce of the Veneto Region, for its success in terms of image and commercial value. It employs 306 staff, including those working freelance, and had a turnover in 1998 of 45 billion lire, 50% of which came from exports. Its principal markets are in the European Union, Switzerland, Eastern Europe, where the company owns three shops, the Far East, Canada, Australia, Japan, and China. It has 750 Italian clients. The signing of the license for menswear, linking Borsalino and Nervesa Moda Uomo, was a prestigious event.
