Molco

Willy (1943-2002). Italian journalist, born in Cairo. He studied in Milan and Paris, taking a degree in Law. After having run the weekly magazines Novella 2000 and Oggi, he edited the women’s title Anna from 1986 to 1989 and the monthly Moda from 1992 to 1995. At Anna, he greatly improved the quality of its fashion images, employing the best photographers on the European and American markets and using some of the most famous models. He also began the process of turning Anna into a service magazine, a task that was taken over by Mirella Pallotti, the editor who followed him. At Moda, he emphasized the main feature of the magazine, that of anticipating fashions by closely monitoring youth trends and keeping a watchful eye on the United States: lifestyles, street fashions, cinema, music, literature. During his career, Molco was also responsible for Sette and Radiocorriere. From 1997, he acted as an assistant to the news directors of the television channel Raiuno, first Marcello Sorgi and from July 1998, Giulio Borrelli. For Raiuno, he produced the special Versace-Lagerfeld, Parallel Lives, shown in Summer 1994.
