Lycra

Brand of synthetic fiber that has been on the market since 1959, one of the most famous products made by DuPont. It is a segmented polyurethane belonging to the group of elastam synthetic fibers mixed with other fibers. It allows linen fibers to be stretched to seven times their original length. It is extremely thin and the fibers are white and opaque. Having undergone technical improvement over the years, its degree of elasticity has been increased. It is used in underwear and since the 1990s has also been used in stretch and elasticized fabrics.
