Jacques Manuel is a French costume designer born in 1897. During the 1930s and 1940s, he dressed most of the female stars of French cinema, from Annabella to Edwige Feuillière. He began working for films as an assistant to Marcel L’Herbier and went on to become his costume designer for the film L’argent. He taught the art of costume design at Idhec, the cinema school in Paris.
He died in 1968.
