Imec

Women’s underwear company. Established in the 1930s, Imec was the first Italian company to introduce innovative fibers and techniques in the 1950s. It made its name internationally by imposing itself with collective imagery thanks to a revolutionary campaign in the early 1960s. The campaign was designed by the three twin daughters of the company’s owner. Today the Imec brand targets a traditional female clientele, who have a wide range of medium and high level proposals: underwear, corsetry, pajamas, nightgowns, lingerie, swimsuits, and beachwear. Established in 1936 in Paderno d’Adda by Nino and Jone Colnaghi, Imec is now a limited responsibility company, producing a million pieces a year with a turnover of 45 billion Liras (1998). Its brands include Peach Tree, for girls and young women, John Khol, medium-level brand for men, and Silvia Mantegna, medium-high level brand for modern and emancipated women.
