HEIDI WEISEL: THE CASHMERE DESIGNER
Heidi Weisel (1967) is an American fashion designer. Her atout is cashmere, which, anticipating many fashion designers, she used in evening dresses, mixing it with silks or organza.
At the age of 23 she opened her own tailor’s shop in New York and began serving various Hollywood actresses. Fashion is a long-standing passion of hers: at the age of 5, she was already using old fabrics to sew clothes for her dolls.
After attending the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology, she graduated in 1994 and immediately started working in the Garment District, the fabric headquarters.
