Hanro
Swiss manufacture of men and women’s underwear. Established in 1884 it was named after the two founders, Handschin and Ronus. The very pure cotton is worked to feel like silk, which is the guaranteed trademark of this company. The manufacturing process is slow and expensive. The business results have been witnessed by the success attained not only in Europe, but also in Asia and America.
The brand is licensed by the German griffe Joop! for the manufacturing of underwear.
Huber Holding, owner of Hanro Nova and the Hanro AG subsidiary since 1993 decided to close the production plant in the Tessin Canton for economic reasons. The Hanro Nova business was moved to Santa Maria de Feira, Portugal.
The collaboration with Escada came to its conclusion. The Swiss company had been producing underwear since January 2001.
From autumn the men’s underwear for Joop! was also manufactured by Hanro.
