Gruppo Lineapiù

It is a world leader in the manufacturing of knitwear yarns. Established in 1975 in Capalle di Prato, the Group’s success is thanks to a wide range of innovative products manufactured with precious and highly technological raw materials. The Group has created a yarn called Relax in carbon fiber, which is capable of blocking electromagnetic waves. The spinning combines the experience of wool with that of cotton. The Group consists of 15 factories in Italy with more than 1,000 employees. It has an annual turnover of more than 150 million Euro, which is equal to 10 million kilograms of yarn, divided into the four product lines: Lineapiù, Filoré, Filclass, and Cotonificio R. Ferrari. The latter line enlarged the production to include also weaving. In 1998 the Group acquired further plants — a knitwear company and a manufacturing factory, which designs and produces Collections under the name of Lineapiù System. In this sector, the debut was in partnership with Samsonite. In July 1999 at Pitti Filati the Group presented hyper-technologic fabrics, Cork (the wool weighs 30% less that the traditional yarn), Lac (a lacquered yarn), Bobol (Winter cotton with silver highlights), Jewel (yarn with Swarovski crystals). Giuliano Coppini is the President of the Group.
