Groult

Nicole Groult (1887-1967). French dressmaker. She became devoted to the profession because of her illustrious family relationship: she was Paul Poiret‘s sister. However, she was an excellent designer and autonomous in her style, helped by the artistic talent of her husband, André Groult. Her business lasted longer than that of her brother due to her cautiousness and thriftiness. She closed her fashion house in the early 1960s.
