GQ

American men’s monthly. It was originally a quarterly publication as its acronym indicates, Gentlemen’s Quarterly. Launched in 1957 by the American publisher Condé Nast, it is now a magazine focused on the man’s world: from fashion to beauty, from suggestions about the modern life to clothes and travels. It is published in several countries. In 1988 the English edition was published with the same name, while the German Man Vogue (Manner Vogue) became GQ in 1997. There are also Spanish, Taiwanese, Australian, Japanese, Italian (first published in 1999, directed by Andrea Monti), and South African editions (from 1999). Every twelve months a monothematic issue is published, dedicated to the men of the year. Monti has been taken over by Paolo Bonanni.
