Goma

Michel (1932). French designer from Montpellier. He is a master in omitting the superfluous. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Montpellier. In 1952 he was hired by Jeanne Lafaurie, where he remained for 10 years through the ups and downs of the Parisian house. In 1962 he moved to Patou, which proved to be an excellent training ground for Lagerfeld, as it turned out to be for Goma and his assistants, Tarlazzi and Gaultier. In 1973 he founded his own company. In the late 1980s, he became the creative director of Balenciaga‘s ready-to-wear line.
