Faurer

Louis (1916). American photographer. After working as a sign painter, he dedicated himself to photo reportage on social issues. In the 1940s, he moved from Philadelphia to New York and started a career as a fashion photographer. He worked with Alexey Brodovich at Harper’s Bazaar. There he met Robert Frank, with whom he shared a style that was reduced to its essentials as well as a scarcity of means. In the 1950s and 1960s his interests shifted again, this time towards street photography and the avant-garde cinema.
