Fashion

Italian fashion weekly. For 30 years it has been the leader of Italian specialized trade magazines. Created by Gianni Bertasso and now directed by Titti Matteoni, the magazine is known for investigations, articles, interviews, photo features, predictions, news, and columns useful a quick check of the textile-clothing business as a whole: covering fibers, yarns, fabric, children’s wear, prêt-à-porter, high fashion, accessories, and jeans, all according to the rhythm of industry events and international trade fairs. The magazine has grown over the years, not just in content, but also in terms of parallel and complementary initiatives. These have included the Fashionguides, practical booklets rich in information about specific fields, updated periodically; the Fashioncalendars, distributed gratis during the collections with an appointment calendar, useful addresses, and other features; the Tabloids, with news published in real time during the prêt-à-porter presentations; and the internet website www.fashionmagazine.it with its corresponding free newsletter sent out every night via e-mail. In 2002, the magazine started Fashion Focus, a monthly with in-depth reports of 16 to 20 pages each on different aspects of the textile-clothing field. It started with men’s clothing and went on to include such themes as fibers/yarns/fabrics, women’s clothing, accessories, glasses/watches/perfumes, and distribution. Fashion has also organized seminars and round tables on current issues important to the industry.
