Farri

Stanislao (1924). Italian photographer. He acquired a passion for photography in 1940. In 1955, after having worked as a printer, he decided to turn his passion into a profession. He opened a studio in his home town of Reggio Emilia and devoted himself to the reproduction of art work as well as industrial, advertising, and architectural photography. He published several books filled with his personal research on the area’s civilization and culture and, alongside his professional work, did campaigns in both black-and-white and color, participating in various personal and collective exhibits. In 2003, Palazzo Magnani in Reggio Emilia mounted a large retrospective of his work, accompanied by a catalogue, Memorie di Luce (‘Memories of Light’). He became interested in fashion photography and followed a non-systematic approach through commercial work carried out for clients such as Bormioli, Ferrari, and Max Mara.
