Fallai

Aldo (1943). Italian photographer. He is the author of several advertising campaigns for Giorgio Armani. His style is clean and precise. He studied at the State Art Institute in Florence, where he was born, attending courses on advertising graphics and painting. After graduation, he taught for five years. In the early 1970s, he opened a graphic design and photography studio. In 1974, while working for various fashion catalogues, Fallai met Armani, who at the time was practically unknown. Since then, they have had a stylistic partnership which has given birth to several photographic campaigns, both for the Giorgio Armani line and Emporio Armani. Fallai introduced the portrait into fashion photography, with the clothing element seemingly secondary. He has worked with Condè Nast and with the magazines Max, G.Q., Grazie, Amica, Anna, Brutus, Esquire Japan, Mondo Uomo, and Emporio Armani Magazine. Designers such as Valentino, Ferré, Ferragamo, Cerruti, Calvin Klein, and Calugi and Giannelli have often entrusted the interpretation and documentation of their collections to him.
