Falconetto

Brand of fabric created in 1954 by Ken Scott with Jo Martin, an illustrator and the inventor of the house garden style, and Vittorio Fiorazzo (1923-1995), a financier and entrepreneur. Coming from an old style Padua family who were competitors of the Feltrinellis in the wood trade, Fiorazzo, after a trip to the U.S., convinced Scott and Martin, who already worked together and had attended the Parson’s School of Design, to follow him to Italy. Falconetto fabrics (the brand was named after a Renaissance architect) were meant for home furnishings and fashion accessories. They were brightly colored, with floral patterns in a palette that was very daring but of great effect. The boutique was at first on via Gesù, in Milan, then on via Manzoni, and finally on via Corridoni.
