Demeulemeester

Ann Demeulemeester (1959). Belgian designer. She is proof of the excellent education offered by the Department of Fashion of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, from which she obtained her degree in 1981. It is a school which has become a breeding ground for successful designers. After creating the brand B.V.B.A. 32, she presented her first women’s wear Collection for Winter 1987-1988 in London. The following year, she was in Milan: her line had expanded to include shoes and accessories. Since 1991, she has been in Paris. Her style is minimalist, with an androgynous silhouette and new harmonies that flow from the contrast and co-existence of elements belonging to both the woman’s wardrobe and men’s clothing.
