Webb, David

David Webb (1925-1975) was an American jeweller. Nature and mythology (Greek, Mesopotamian, Oriental, Mayan) were the sources of the imagination of this creator of great exuberance. Trained in his uncle’s atelier in Ashville, North Carolina, at the age of 16 he moved to New York where, at the end of the 1940s, he began to produce, in collaboration with Nina Silberstein, jewellery with an exotic and bizarre flavour that reached its peak in the 1960s, thanks to his client Jackie Kennedy. The company is still run by the Silberstein family.
