Cornejo

Maria. Chilean designer. She graduated from the Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication. She had her professional development in London. For many years, she was “the other half” of the lucky duo Richmond-Cornejo. In 1988, she chose to live and work in Paris. She was appointed artistic director of the maison Tehen. She then started her own line, called Zero, on sale in trendy stores such as Colette and 10 Corso Como. Her clothes express a femininity of great potential, with a touch of black humor and transgression, the unavoidable heritage of her partnership with Richmond. She then alternated between bad girl and good girl styles, woman as antagonist and woman as entertainment, all in a game of transformations. It is a work in progress, especially concerning her attention to fabric and workmanship: some cuts appear to be done with a knife, daring slashes that emphasize the hips and nearby parts of the body.
