Colette

Italian brand of shoes with a history that goes back to 1886, the year of birth of Enrico Lattuada, the head of a dynasty of artisans. Helped by his wife and son Ambrogio, Enrico opened a workshop in Parabiago (Mi). But it was Ambrogio who would propel the company into the future with the introduction of new machines to assemble the uppers. It was the beginning of the brand La Flessibile, shoes that combined innovative shapes with refined materials. With Vito Lattuada, a member of the third generation, La Flessibile became Colette. From that moment on, Magda Nai, Vito’s wife, would follow the administrative part of the business, while Vito dedicated himself to the creative side, giving his shoes lines that were simple and never too “busy.” The company launched Collage, a trendy line of comfortable shoes inspired by the American lifestyle, and, in 1975, a line of shoes carrying his own name. The year 1982 saw the début of Laura Biagiotti by Colette. In 1986 Colette became a public limited company and Vito Lattuada received the title Cavaliere del Lavoro. Ten years later, it was time for the fourth generation, Laura and Andrea, who enriched the range of products with the griffes Lall by Colette and Andrea Lattuada.
