CITER

Centro di Informazione Tessile dell’Emilia Romagna (Textile Information Center of Emilia Romagna), established in the heart of a district where one person out of three is connected to fashion, and where in the early 1990s there were more than 2,000 factories working in textile and knitwear, and at least 1,500 in clothing. Promoted by the Municipality of Carpi — on the initiative of Loredana Ligabue and Silvana Belli — and by ERVET (the Regional Institute for Development), it began its activity in the early 1980s with education and requalification courses, meetings, and workshops, not just for micro-factories but also for already-established entrepreneurs who needed information, updates, and new techniques in addition to research on style, technology and marketing. Today, CITER has a membership of 350 companies in the region plus other firms and clients in the rest of Italy and abroad.
