Chasuble

Jacket open at the sides, without a neck and often with a quilted pleating (chasuble) which hides the armholes. If the pleating is extended below the line of the shoulders, it makes them look wider. During the 1940s, this technique was used on Winter coats and jackets. Today, it is worn like a cardigan, with or without sleeves, cut straight and closed in front by a zipper.
