Branquinho

Veronique Branquinho (1973) was a belgian photographer and designer. After high school, she attended a painting course at the Saint Lucas Art School in Brussels. From 1991 to 1995 she studied fashion at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. She made her début as a designer working with various Belgian manufacturing firms. In 1997, in a gallery in Paris, she presented her first Collection, inspired by Romanticism.
She wins the VHL Fashion Award as best fashion designer.
She designs Ruffo Research for Spring-Summer 1999 and for Autumn-Winter 1999-2000. The Collections are presented in Milan.
Exhibit at Colette, in Paris, dedicated to Braquinho and Raf Simons.
She launches her first men’s Collection in Paris. In March, she presents in Antwerp the original sketch for the Coke Light can and a can-shaped candle. In Autumn she opens her first boutique in Antwerp, on Nationalstraat.
