Bobby socks

How do you recognize an American movie that is set during the 1950s? That’s easy. Just look at the teenagers’socks: short, often white, rolled down to the ankles, matched with ballet flats or heels. The look was completed with very tight sweaters worn with layered skirts. Or, bobby socks could be seen emerging from boots worn under long kilts.
Bobby socks are white socks, they are the symbol of the 1950s and make their appearance at every rockabilly and Happy Days fan club meeting, together with the iconography typical of the time: cars, motorcycles, and juke boxes.
