Sandy Black (1951) was a british knitwear designer, known especially for the eccentric taste that often characterizes the details on his clothing. He has worked with the London College of Fashion in their research department. In 2002, he published with Alan Cannon-Jones A Comparative Study of The British and Italian Textile and Clothing Industries, with particular attention to knitwear and men’s tailoring. For Thames and Hudson publishers he has written Knitwear in Fashion, a book rich in photographs which the designer dedicated to the best of international knitwear production.
