Beretta Sport

Brand of clothing owned by the weapons factory Pietro Beretta. The firm was established in 1526 when Master Bartolomeo Beretta of Gardone first sold 185 gun barrels to the Arsenale of Venice. It is a leader in its field and has many police forces among its clientele. Ten years ago it entered the clothing business with a line of casual wear managed by Tino Girombelli and sold in hunting and fishing shops. Seeing its success, Beretta, managed by Ugo Gussalli, opened sportswear stores in New York, Dallas and Buenos Aires. In 2002, an atelier for sportswear was opened in Paris. The Collection also includes accessories, from bags to watches and from shoes to berets made either of loden cloth or thorn-resistant fabric. Beretta Sport ended the period 2001-2002 with a turnover of 14.5 million Euros and a net profit of around 8.3%. The opening of new shops in Milan, London and Madrid has been scheduled.
