Azagury

Azagury Jacques (1956). English designer born in Casablanca. At the young age of 20, he launched his own line. It came to a halt two years later but was stubbornly resumed in 1978. He worked in London with Jane Culliman, who decorated his clothes with flowers. This design partnership has made a name for itself with bridal wear in particular.
Sir Hardy Amies leaves the helm of the historic house on Savile Row bearing his name and is succeeded as chief designer by Jacques Azagury.
The first Collection created by Azagury for Autumn-Winter 2002 is never put on sale and the creative staff is replaced.
The Luxury Brands Group, owner of Hardy Amies, decides to dismiss the designer, breaking the agreement which provided for the preparation of two Collections. His replacement is Ian Garland.
Azagury designs some of the dresses worn by the female stars during the Bafta Award, the annual awards ceremony for British television.
