AWC

AWC (Australian Wool Corporation). An association founded in 1973 by Australian sheep farmers. It has taken the place of the Australian Wool Board that was founded in 1936. It promotes the use of wool, communication among the membership, product research and commercial development. As Australia is the world’s leading producer of wool, the AWC is the major source of funding of the IWS (International Wool Secretariat), providing 70% of the budget.
