A large tie called also a plastron. At the end of the 20th century it also became part of the woman’s wardrobe. It is the most elegant tie that can be worn with a morning suit. It is tied around the neck in a double knot and held in place with a pin. It is similar, but not identical, to the cache-col (a type of scarf, or cravat), an elegant accessory which can substitute for the tie in an informal situation and is much easier to knot.
