Animal prints

A garment, textile or any other type of material, printed with spots like a cheetah or leopard, or with stripes like a tiger or a zebra. The colors are not necessarily the traditional ones but can vary according to the designer’s imagination, given that the essential element is the pattern, which reproduces animal skin or fur. This type of print has been a favorite with many designers. During the 1960s, Valentino made it a focal point in his Collections, ennobling it and endowing it with a new elegance and refinement. Azzedine Alaïa uses it on his closely fitted mini-dresses, Anna Molinari on her unique cashmere sweaters, while Dolce & Gabbana adopt it in more outrageous forms: gilt, laminated and above all very ostentatious.
