Aigner

Brand of leather goods and clothing established in 1950 by the Hungarian designer Etienne Aigner. He made his début in New York. In 1965, in Munich, a company was formed based on the brand. The main characteristic of Aigner is a special red-colored leather. From then on, the company’s horseshoe brand was marketed in 37 countries and quoted on the stock exchange. In 1972 Etienne Aigner Srl was established in Italy and given responsibility for the entire output of leather goods, extending its production to shoes and luggage. In the 1970s and ’80s, production expanded goods made of silk, with foulards, and to cosmetics, with the launch of the perfume Etienne Aigner No.1. In 1978 the first line of men’s and women’s wear was launched, which starting in the 1999-2000 season was produced by Modyva. The Collection for the following Autumn-Winter 2003-2004 season was by the Austrian designer Ines Valentinitsch who took Aigner on the runways.
