Mizrahi

Isaac (1961). American designer, working in New York. After a decade of successes, in 1988, the year of his first collection, he received the Perry Ellis Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America, and a year later another for the best designer of the year. He was then obliged to downsize drastically, to the point of giving up the New York runway show of Fall 1998. With a diploma from the Parson’s School, he learnt his trade at Ellis, Banks and Calvin Klein.
&Quad;1998, October. The official announcement of the brand’s closure, after ten years in business. Partly for financial reasons, but also a growing involvement in the world of TV, off-Broadway theater, and the writing of novels and strip cartoons. There are talks with Dreamworks to turn the character of Sandee the Supermodel into a film.
&Quad;2003. The Isaac Mizrahi television show meets with success. Its formula is part game-show, part special guest appearances of his celebrity friends. As for his fashion production, he continues to produce lines of jackets, shoes, and jewelry.
